Apple Pie Day ContestOpen Competition

Sponsored By: Patterson Fruit Farm of Chesterland, Ohio and Auxiliary

September 4, 2010 (No prior entry required)

Class 1 - 24 years and under
Class 2 - 25 years to 50 years
Class 3 - 51 years and over
Prizes in each class: 1st - $10.00, 2nd - $8.00, 3rd - $5.00

RULES FOR COMPETITION

  1. Must be made with fresh apples - (only apples).
  2. Two crust pie required.
  3. No purchased, ready-made crusts.
  4. Must be baked in a disposable, aluminum foil pan - (Pan size - 8 or 9 inches only. No metal or glass pans.
  5. Past trophy winners are eligible for competition after 3 years.
  6. Bring to and enter at the Domestic Arts Hall 9:00 - 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 4, 2010.
  7. Winners will be announced on PA system.
  8. Pies will be sold and awards made at the bandstand. A public auction for the benefit of the Auxiliary Fund will be at 2:30 p.m.
  9. Pies sold at judge’s discretion of quality.

SPECIAL AWARDS TO BEST PIE, PRESENTED BY THE PATTERSON FRUIT FARM.

Apple Pie Auction

The Auxiliary sponsors the Apple Pie Contest Saturday. This is an open event anyone can enter. There are three classes and the Grand Champion receives the Patterson Fruit Farm trophy. All proceeds go to the beautification and improvement of the fairgrounds.
