ENTERING ONLINE (NO JR. FAIR) — Please read and follow the instructions below before entering online:

1. Review the rules and classes of the departments you plan on entering by downloading Fairbook above.
2. You MUST purchase an exhibitor's ticket unless Jr. class. Make sure you click on the ticket tab to select your exhibitor ticket - only 1 may be purchased. An animal exhibitor must purchase a $25 exhibitor ticket or membership ticket.
3. You may only make one entry per class for non-animal entries.
4. Deadline for entries is August 8, 2012 at 4:00 p.m.

Information on Entering Exhibits in the Geauga County Fair:

The Great Geauga County Fair is Ohio's oldest continuous county fair and one of the oldest existing agricultural fairs in the nation. Preparations are now underwa,y and all area residents are invited to plan to enter their exhibits.

New in 2012

• The following Departments have added or deleted classes from 2011: Honey, Baked Goods, Domestic Arts, Fine Arts, Flowers, Antiques, Draft Horses, Miniature Horses, Rabbits and Horses.
• The following Departments have changes to their rules from 2011: Culinary, Honey Baked Goods, Fine Arts.
• All animals need to be in place by Midnight on Wednesday.
• The Change continues for animal release time: All animals will be released at 8:00 P.M. on Monday. All animals must be out of barns and off fairgrounds by Noon on Tuesday.
• Entry Deadline is Wednesday, August 8, 2012. All entries must be in or postmarked by this date.
• Again, added pick-up time on Tuesday evening, as well as Monday evening, for Baked Goods, Culinary, Domestic Arts, Fine Arts, and Antiques. Check the department rules for times.
• Drop off time for Artwork and Photography is again on Monday, August 27 between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. These classes will not be accepted at any other time. All other items for Fine Arts are due on Tuesday between Noon and 9:00 p.m.

Over 14,000 exhibits in 2011

Since 1823, residents of Geauga County and beyond of all ages have been active participants and enthusiastic supporters of the Fair. In 2010, 14,000 exhibits were entered for judging at the Fair in a variety of competitions and categories including, livestock, horticultural and agricultural products, Fine Arts, Domestic Arts, antiques and collectibles, culinary and baked goods and many more.

Anyone Can Enter

Anyone wishing to enter an exhibit in the Great Geauga County Fair must submit an official entry form (form photos copies are acceptable) to the Fair Secretary's office by the entry deadline. No entries will be accepted after this date. You do not have to be a Geauga County resident to enter an exhibit in the Fair. Many departments also offer special classes for entries by children.

The official Fair Premium Book, listing the rules, regulations, descriptions and forms for each Fair department and class, are available through the Fair Secretary's office at 14373 N Cheshire St, Burton, Oh 44021, Wednesdays only from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. until August when it is open Monday through Friday. Premium books are also available at all branches of the Geauga County Public Library and Burton Public Library.

The Great Geauga County Fair has been sponsored since its inception by the Geauga County Agricultural Society, a non-profit group, and is the oldest continuously operating organization in the county. The Fair's Board of Directors represents each of Geauga's sixteen townships with five directors elected-at-large. Any Geauga county resident 21 years of age or older may apply for membership in the Society. A special Junior Fair, offering membership on the Junior Fair Board, and representing 4-H, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Farm Bureau, Grange, Future Farmers of America and Geauga Horse and Pony, also is held for area youths during the Fair.
