November 19, 2009: Fair Board Hires Concession Managers

The directors of the Great Geauga County Fair held a reorganization meeting on November 19, 2009, at the fairgrounds.

They approved the recommendation of the Concessions Committee to hire Theresa Call and Howard Call CFE as the new Concession Managers for the fair. Theresa and Howard bring several years of concession and fair experience. Theresa is currently the administrative office manager for the Ohio Fair Managers Association, while Howard holds a Certified Fair Executive credentials with the International Association of Fairs as well as serving as the Ohio Fair Managers Association’s Executive Secretary. According to Sam Plants, Fair Board Director and Concession Committee Chairman, “The Calls will work to restore the fair’s concessions to greatness, and represent the fair with the integrity and respect it deserves.”

In addition the Board swore in its newly elected members and re-elected Howard Bates and Tony Rastall as President and Vice President respectively. Bates and Rastall will be working to assign departments and committees as the 2010 fair season gets under way. The 2010 fair will be September 2 – 6, Labor Day weekend.
