Geauga Fair Testimonials

Email from Brad Todd:
I live in North Kingsville in Ashtabula County Ohio. My wife and I spent a good bit of yesterday (Saturday) at the fair. It was a real hoot! We went with my sister-in-law and her husband. I'm not a kid anymore, I'm 63. I write a poem now and again. I wrote one today about the Geauga County Fair. I thought you might get a kick out of it. Keep up the good work at he fair. Here's the poem:

It’s just Heaven
Eatin’ kettle corn at the Geauga County Fair
Well, maybe not quite Heaven
But, we’re very nearly there

Meandering down the crowded midway
blue sky high above
Walking hand in hand
With the one that you love

Looking at ancient tractors
There’re plenty of them to view
Proudly they’ve been polished up
They appear to be brand new

Wander into a long barn
To catch a bit of shade
Admiring all the beautiful quilts
That patient hands have made

Checking out the milk cows
Standing in their stalls
Taking in the sounds and smells
You can’t get at your bests malls

Stop to watch the cloggers
Their dancing’s really neat
Man, I’d love to dance like that
But I was born with two left feet

Up in the grand stand
To see the ponies pull
Those ponies are all muscle
Their handler’s hands are full

Look at the size of those draft horses
Bet they can really put away the oats
Look at the beards
On those tiny, little goats

Let’s listen to the bagpipes
The sound is oh so sweet
The rumble of the drums
The solemn tapping out the beat

Would you like to take a ride
On some whirly things?
Nah, I rather hear a bluegrass band
Strumming on their strings

Seems we’ve walked a hundred miles
There’s still so much to see
Help me find someplace to sit
Would you bring me an extra-large ice tea?

Oh, we saw the huckster
Selling the stuff we saw on our TV
Special price at the fair, buy a dozen,
he’ll give you one for free

How will we ever make it
Without a French Waffle or an Elephant Ear
Better eat all that you can now
Or wait until fair time comes next year

It’s great to spend the day
At the Geauga County Fair
There might be some place better
But I can’t tell you where

Thanks Brad, we love it!

"Just wanted to let you know that we LOVED Buffo the Clown! He had a special way of making all the kids feel special and involved. I've been coming to the fair for over 25 years and was very involved for many years as well! Buffo was definitely a hit and we hope you'll keep him coming back! Thanks!" Chris, email

"Thank you for a real good time. The fair is a tradition w/ us. I'm getting older and every year we see less of it because of my health. We love the fair, had a good time. I'd go to it just to ride the tracktor from and 2 the parking lot. Good job keep it going." Ray and Christine, email

"I would like to take a minute to thank Randy Bennett and the fairboard for including the donkey show this year. It was a chance for my family to do a fun event with our donkey and it meant a lot to my 7 year old daughter especially who showed in the youth class... we are already planning for next year and we hope you are too. Thanks again." Mark, email

Great fair this year! Especially:
- MOUNTED SHOOTING!
- BUFFO THE CLOWN!
Too bad we ran out of milk shakes :( Leo, email
